Panel & Press Round-Up
The best part about being part of a photography panel this past weekend at RuPaul’s Drag Con (held at the Jacob Javits Center) was meeting the other panelists, all of whom were absolutely lovely—photographers Richard Renaldi and Travis Magee, Drag Race royalty Bebe Zahara Benet (winner of season one) and journalist Lyne Lucien, who moderated the event.

And speaking of photography… On the eve of Drag Con, The Huffington Post published a very insightful article by James Michael Nichols about the historical correlation between NYC’s drag scene of the 1980s and ’90s (the era that I cover in The Drag Explosion) and today’s mainstream acceptance of drag, including Drag Con. I’m quoted and the article includes several photos of mine.
Glad to have helped pave the way for drag queens to take over convention centers!
